What is a CLT?
Our Mission and Objectives
'Community Land Trusts are a form of community-led housing, set up and run by ordinary people to develop and manage homes as well as other assets. CLTs act as long-term stewards of housing, ensuring that it remains genuinely affordable, based on what people actually earn in their area, not just for now but for every future occupier.' (http://www.communitylandtrusts.org.uk)
PVCLT is formed for the benefit of the community to operate as a Community Land Trust in the parishes of Alderton, Bawdsey, Boyton, Hollesley, Shottisham and Sutton. Its objects shall be to carry on for the benefit of the community:
- The business of providing and managing housing (including social housing) and providing assistance to help house people and associated facilities, amenities and services;
- The promotion for the community’s benefit of regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation by any means that the board considers reasonable and will be of benefit:
- The provision and/or maintenance of environmental and sympathetically designed sites of housing, buildings and or land to reflect local landscape;
- The provision of such other community resources and activities in the area of benefit as the board shall determine from time to time for the benefit of the community.
